Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals

  • Using Teamwork and Communication to Help Your Loved One

Our typical patient has survived critical care but has damaged organs and continued weakness. They need a special kind of hospital to receive the resources and time necessary for improvement. We created our hospitals to only treat seriously ill patients who require an extended, more attentive hospital stay. They are not for everyone. To care for this special type of patient, we form special teams of caregivers with different kinds of training. Led by doctors, our team members often include medical specialists, nurses, nutritionists, therapists, and case managers.

If your loved one is admitted, we will create an individualized treatment plan based on his or her health condition. Patients will have access to one or more of our specialized treatment teams. Beginning with the care conference, we will work hard to keep you informed on your loved one's status throughout the treatment plan.

Our long-term acute care hospitals operate as Select Specialty Hospitals, Regency Hospitals and Great Lakes Specialty Hospitals.
