Select Medical and Grandview Health Partner to Deliver Outpatient Physical Therapy to Birmingham and Surrounding Communities

MECHANICSBURG, PA and BIRMINGHAM, AL, October 20, 2021 -- Select Medical and Grandview Medical Center, a subsidiary of Community Health Systems, announced today that they are forming a joint venture partnership called Champion Sports Medicine Birmingham, LLC, which will provide outpatient rehabilitation services. As part of the joint venture, Select Medical contributed five existing physical therapy centers that will now serve as Grandview Medical Center’s affiliated outpatient rehabilitation network serving patients in Birmingham and surrounding communities. The centers will carry both the Champion Sports Medicine and Grandview Health brands. Select Medical will serve as the majority owner and operator of the joint venture.

Under the partnership, two Champion Sports Medicine centers will reside in Birmingham with additional locations in Gardendale, Hueytown and Vestavia Hills.
