Kelley C. Wood was named director of research for Select Medical’s ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation program in 2023. In that role, she oversees research strategy and projects, leads data management and analysis, and manages both research partnerships and dissemination. Over the prior four years, she served as ReVital’s manager of research and education.
An emerging leader in cancer rehabilitation, Kelley has published over 20 peer-reviewed manuscripts on topics ranging from health services research evaluations of community-based exercise programs and rehabilitation services, to studies investigating patient experience of cancer-related functional disability. Her research is focused on health care quality and delivery and concentrated on developing cancer rehabilitation and exercise services standards of care for cancer patients.
Kelley is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine’s Moving Through Cancer Task force and co-chairs the Research and Outcomes Task Force of the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine’s Cancer Rehabilitation Networking Group.
A graduate of Appalachian State University, Kelley earned a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science. Additionally, she holds both a master’s degree in health and exercise science and a doctorate in occupation and rehabilitation science from Colorado State University. At that institution, Kelley also served as a graduate research assistant, lab manager, and instructor of the Fitness Therapy for Cancer (Fit Cancer) program which she co-established in 2017.
In 2017, Kelley obtained clinical certifications in exercise physiology and cancer exercise training from the American College of Sports Medicine.
