Tony Grigonis, Ph.D., is vice president, quality and health care analytics at Select Medical. Under his leadership, the quality team analyzes data related to quality, risk and clinical practices. It also supports quality improvement initiatives related to patient safety, efficiency, effectiveness, equity and patient-centered care.
Before joining Select Medical in 2010, Tony held a variety of leadership posts within the health care sector. He was a corporate analyst at Altarum Institute, a national non-profit health care research organization. Before that he was executive vice president and co-founder of Morrison Informatics, Inc., a health care consulting company. Prior to that, he was director of program effectiveness and operations research at Continental Medical Systems, Inc., a multi-rehabilitation hospital corporation.
Tony entered the health care industry after 10 years in research and academia. As an assistant professor of anatomy and director of the graduate program in anatomy at Drexel University College of Medicine (formerly Hahnemann University), he conducted NIH-funded neuroscience research and taught neuroscience and human gross anatomy. Prior to that, Tony completed a post-doctoral fellowship in anatomy at the Medical College of Pennsylvania.
Tony holds a doctorate in psychology/neuroscience from the University of Massachusetts, a master’s degree in psychology from Adelphi University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Lehigh University.
