Select Medical is dedicated to enhancing the patient experience in physical and occupational therapy clinics using a validated Patient Reported Experience Measure tool. Our investigators analyzed patient-reported scores from 89,205 individuals who received therapy for musculoskeletal disorders. These scores were used to identify predictors of patient experience among this population. Factors such as survey format (hard copy v. digital), cancellation rates, and financial barriers were found to influence the patient experience. Our research team is planning further research to explore interventions to mitigate the predictors’ impacts on patient experience and consider additional variables that may explain variations in scores.
